Thousand Pyramids – ca. 1900
This vintage double-sized quilt is from my husband’s family. Unfortunately, we have no information about the date or maker. Love the random distribution of colors and patterns.
One triangle has been replaced, but the quilt is in fairly good condition.
Hand pieced, hand quilted.

Finished binding the log cabin comfort quilt yesterday.
Since I am donating it to the Love and Comfort Quilt effort of the Genesee Valley Quilt Club, I’ve taken several detail pics:

Here are the sketches made before piecing was done. Plan is at 45 degrees to put design on point.
Piecing is nearly finished. Here’s a corner, along with fabric for the backing. Fussy-cut block centers were cut from this fabric.
Log Cabin Pin Wheel Set on Point – 2014
On my design wall is the beginning layout for a comfort quilt to be approx. 40 x 60. Log cabin centers were fussy cut from a southwestern print. Finished block size is 9 x 9. More to come.
